Smock for Women Blue and White

Price $20

Longer than our unisex smocks, these are designed for women and are great worn with a modern twist.

The construction is traditional though, made from handwoven materials in Northern Ghana, then sewn with attention to detail. They are detailed with Adinkra symbols, used by the Akan tribes (including the Ashanti or Asante), to recount proverbs or stories.

Mama has a post about them on her blog if you'd like to learn more. These are also referred to as dashikis; but in Ghana they are known as smock, fugu or datakari, depending on the region. This one is woven in light blue and white with silver thread as a highlight.

Machine wash delicate (or hand-wash), line dry for best results.
